Florida State University is narrowing the gap between “town and gown” with a planned eastward expansion of the main campus it has dubbed the Arena District. The approximately 30-acre site is anchored by the existing Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, which the university purchased in 2012.

Architects from Boston-based Goody Clancy recently visited the College of Business to run through the final design plans for Legacy Hall and solicit suggestions for tweaks from faculty and staff members before the building project moves to the construction development planning phase.

It was at a recent College of Business alumni event in Tampa that Adam and Mindee Besnard first realized they could help move the college closer toward the fall 2019 groundbreaking of its new building – and at the same time build a legacy into the future.

The Florida State University College of Business hit another Legacy Hall milestone with the hiring of Culpepper Construction Company as construction manager for the college’s new $88 million, 218,392-square-foot home.

Legacy Hall is the 38^th project on FSU’s campus that the Tallahassee-based company has had a hand in constructing. Past work includes buildings for the University Center, Psychology, Materials Research, the Aero-Propulsion, Mechatronics and Energy (AME) Center, the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and the Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship. 

Since graduating from the College of Business, Steve Mudder has consistently invested his time and financial support in his alma mater.

College of Business real estate alumnus Gregory R. Michaud attended the FSU Real Estate Center’s first TRENDS Conference 23 years ago. Since that time, he has taken every opportunity to champion the center, the conference, the college’s top-ranked real estate program and its students.

Ed Burr believes there are two ways to give back to Florida State University – by offering his time and sharing his treasure. Since graduating in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, he has continued to do both generously.

The Florida Cabinet today approved a major land swap that will enable Florida State University to build a new home for its nationally ranked College of Business.

To say Stuart Lasher is enthusiastic about the future of the College of Business is an understatement. The 1981 Florida State University graduate is equally passionate about giving back to the college, which he says put him on the right path to his own success as an entrepreneur.
